Why Doesn't the Email Link Open My Email Upon Click?
Clicking on a linked email will only open on an email app or handler installed on a device (such as Apple Mail or Outlook), and not a web-based email service. Sometimes certain browsers will allow you to adjust settings for the link to open in a web-based service.
How Email Links Work
Email links (sometimes called "mailto links") are designed to open your default email application and create a new message addressed to the linked email. However, these links do not automatically know which email service you use.
Common Reasons an Email Link Doesn't Work
You may experience issues if:
* You use a web-based email service such as Gmail, Outlook.com, Yahoo Mail, Proton Mail, or another online email provider.
* Your browser has not been configured to open email links with your preferred email service.
* Your device is set to use a different email application than the one you normally use.
* No default email application has been configured on your device.
What Can I Do?
Option 1: Configure Your Browser
Most browsers allow you to choose which email service should open when you click an email link.
For example, if you use Gmail in Google Chrome, you can allow Gmail to handle email links and open new messages automatically.
Refer to your browser's settings for options related to:
* Default email application
* Protocol handlers
* Mailto links
* Site permissions
Option 2: Copy and Paste the Email Address
If the email link does not open correctly, simply copy the email address shown on the page and paste it into a new message in your preferred email service.
1. Open your email service.
2. Create a new message.
3. Paste the email address into the "To" field.
4. Send your message as usual.
