Granting Church Plant Media access to Clearstream for DNS authentication

Church Plant Media can help configure your domain so Clearstream can send authenticated email on your church’s behalf. This includes setting up the required SPF and DKIM records and reviewing your domain’s DMARC settings.

To get started, we’ll need temporary admin access to Clearstream and access to wherever your domain’s DNS records are managed.

Before you begin

Have the following available:

  • Your church’s Clearstream owner or admin login.
  • The Church Plant Media team member’s email address listed in your support ticket.
  • Your church’s email domain and, if known, the company that manages its DNS.

Clearstream admins have broad permissions within the accounts they can access. Please provide this access temporarily while we complete the setup. You can review Clearstream’s user roles and permissions.

1. Invite Church Plant Media as an admin

  1. Sign in to Clearstream using your owner or admin login.
  2. Open Settings → Users.
  3. Select Invite User.
  4. Enter the Church Plant Media email address provided in your support ticket.
  5. Enable access to the church account you use for sending email. If you send through a ministry subaccount, select that account.
  6. Set the role for the selected account to Admin.
  7. Select Send Invite.

Our team member will receive an invitation and accept it using their own login. Keep your church’s existing owner and administrator access in place.

For additional help, see Clearstream’s instructions for inviting users.

Please keep your password and verification codes private.

2. Provide access to your DNS settings

Clearstream access allows us to retrieve the authentication records and check their verification status. Those records must also be added wherever your domain’s DNS is hosted. See Clearstream’s custom sending domain guide.

If Church Plant Media already manages your DNS, we can make these updates for you. Otherwise, we’ll identify your DNS provider and help you arrange the necessary access.

3. Confirm the invitation in your support ticket

Send a reply to your Church Plant Media support ticket confirming:

  • You sent the invitation with Admin access.
  • Which Clearstream account or subaccount you selected.
  • Which domain you want to use for sending email.
  • Any additional platforms that send email with that domain, including your regular email provider and newsletter services.

We’ll accept the invitation, review the current configuration, and coordinate the DNS changes. We’ll then check the domain’s verification status in Clearstream and let you know when setup is complete.

4. Remove our access when setup is complete

After we confirm everything is ready, remove our temporary access:

  1. Open Settings → Users in Clearstream.
  2. Locate the Church Plant Media team member.
  3. Open the ⋮ menu beside their name and select Edit.
  4. Turn off access to each account you granted us.
  5. Select Update User.

For more information, see Clearstream’s instructions for updating user access.

Leave your custom sending domain and authentication DNS records in place so Clearstream can continue sending authenticated email.
