If Bluehost manages your church’s DNS, you can invite Church Plant Media to update the records that connect your domain to your website and email services. We’ll use our own login, so you can keep your Bluehost password and verification codes private.
Unsure who manages your DNS? Even if you purchased your domain through Bluehost, another provider may manage its DNS. Send us your domain name in your support ticket and we’ll check before you invite us.
Invite Church Plant Media
- Sign in to the Bluehost Portal as your church’s Primary or Admin contact.
- Select your profile icon in the upper-right corner, then choose Users & Roles.
- Find the account that contains your church’s domain and select Manage.
- Under User Roles & Permissions, select + Add User.
- Enter the name and email address we provided in your Church Plant Media support ticket.
- Choose Tech as the role, then select Invite. Bluehost will email the invitation directly to us.
The Tech role gives us the access we need for DNS work. It applies to the entire Bluehost account you selected, including other domains on that account. It also allows us to manage and renew existing services. See Bluehost’s guide to users and roles for details and screenshots.
Let us know you’ve sent the invitation
Reply to your Church Plant Media support ticket with the domain name you’d like us to work on and let us know you sent the invitation. We’ll confirm access and follow up in the same ticket when the requested changes are complete.
Remove access after a one-time request
Once we confirm the work is complete, you can remove our access. Return to Users & Roles, select Manage for the same account, and find our team member under User Roles & Permissions. Select Edit beside their name, choose the trash icon in the upper-right corner, and confirm by selecting Delete.
