If Church Plant Media needs access to your website’s settings at SiteGround, you can invite us as a collaborator. This lets our team sign in using a separate account while you retain ownership and control.
Collaborator access does not give us access to your billing information, personal account details, or other services you haven’t shared.
Before you begin
Make sure you have:
- Access to the SiteGround account that owns your website.
- The name and email address of the Church Plant Media team member provided in your support ticket.
- The domain name of the website you want us to access.
1. Invite us as a collaborator
- Sign in to your SiteGround account.
- Open Websites and locate the website you want to share.
- Click the Actions menu beside that website and select Manage Users.
- Click Add Users.
- If prompted to choose a user type, select Collaborator.
- Select New User and enter the name and email address provided in your Church Plant Media support ticket.
- Click Add to send the invitation.
If you have already added our team member to another website in your account, select their name from the existing-user list instead.
SiteGround will email us an invitation, which must be accepted within 48 hours. See SiteGround’s instructions for adding a collaborator.
2. Let us know the invitation is ready
Reply to your Church Plant Media support ticket with:
- The website you shared.
- The email address you invited.
- Confirmation that the invitation has been sent.
We’ll accept the invitation and confirm that we can access the settings needed for your request. SiteGround will also send you a confirmation when we accept.
You do not need to send us your SiteGround password or verification codes.
3. Remove access when our work is complete
Once we confirm that our work is finished, you can remove our access:
- In SiteGround, click your profile icon and select Manage Users.
- Find our team member under Collaborators.
- Open their Actions menu and select Manage Collaboration.
- Open the Actions menu beside the applicable website and select Remove Collaborator.
This removes our access to that website without deleting the website. See SiteGround’s collaborator management guide.
Troubleshooting
The invitation expired
Go to profile icon → Manage Users → Collaborators. Find our team member, then select Actions → Manage Collaboration. Open the Actions menu beside the expired collaboration and select Resend Invite. Let us know when you’ve resent it.
See SiteGround’s invitation management guide.
Your screen looks different
Reply to your support ticket with a screenshot of the page you’re viewing, and we’ll help you find the correct option.
We need help with SiteGround email accounts
Collaborator access does not include SiteGround’s email management tools. If your request requires changes in that area, we’ll guide you through the steps you need to complete from your own account. See SiteGround’s explanation of collaborator permissions.
